I render a scene with no physical-camera (output 2800x2105 pixel) on a screen that has a resolution 1980 x 1080.
When I render the same scene with the same output from my laptop that has 1680 x 1050 as screen resolution , the rendered image has a slightly different prospective.
yeah, that’s one thing I’ve always been annoyed by in sketchup. the SU view sets the height of the image in the SU window, but the vray output works from the width - therefore, if you have a slightly taller SU window, your view width is going to be different in your vray render.
Why don’t you just manually specify an output size that you want, rather than depending upon the viewport to set the output size? The rendered output wouldn’t match the viewport, but the results would be uniform from one computer to the next.
At least for me, I’ve found if my window size is different from one SU session to another, the field of view comes out slightly different even if I set the exact same rendering size in Vray. I attribute that to how SU handles sizing a view for different aspect ratios. With SU, the view will get wider or narrower, but the vray output will always use the width to determine the aspect for the height. If the SU view is wider - the field of view will be greater in the vray rendering. I’ll post an example later if I have the time.
OK - so here is what I’m trying to explain. I have one scene set up in SU. I run a rendering in vray at 800x600. I change the size of my SU window to be narrower. The scene height in SU is the same, but the width of the field of view is narrower. I run another rendering, also at 800x600 - and the width and height of the FOV don’t match the first render, even though it’s the same scene.
Thus: the vray image is based on the width of the SU window, whereas the SU scene is set to the height of the window. See what I mean?
