Script to change submaterials in a scene ?

Hi,

does anyone of you know a script, to change selekted submaterials in a rather complicated scene automaticaly ?

something like "all submaterials ..x.. in all materials to a new materiyl “Y”..

I only did find a request for a material - replacer script. but i would have cost money. so maybe theres something for free out there..

hi tom,

years ago i wrote this script:

i think it only works with standard materials.
but you can use it to collapse multiple submaterials to a single one, then pick it into the material editor and replace it with a vray material.

i did this script to clean up messy archicad 3ds exported models.
