Hi all.
In Vray I go through the following process to create a VR image.
- Add in a stereoscopic node
-
- Tick adjust resolution (doubles the with of the rendered image)
- Set the eye distance to 0.065m
- In render settings I set it to Spherical Panorama and change some settings
- Set the res to 4096x1080 - This creates a 8192x1080 render
- In After Effects I have a comp size on 4096x2160. This is so I can split up the left and right part of the image.
I’m a little confused about the Corona method.
I’ve seen some tutorials for Corona that have different methods for setting up VR. Some add in a Corona Camera mod. One person added it to their Corona camera, which didn’t make sense to me because the option is in the camera already. I’m not sure if I’m looking at outdated reference.
Anyway, after some tests it looks like I need to
- Tick the VR checkbox in my Corona camera
- Set it to Spherical 360
- Enter the final resolution in my render settings. For example, 4096x2160. The same res as my AE comp size
Does that seem correct to people?
Something else I’m a bit confused about is the eye distance. I’ve always set it to 0.065m. In Corona, it seems to be set to 0.063.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks
