Shadow Light Leak. Why?!

I know this is a known issue, but I haven’t experienced light leakage until recently (possibly from a recent update?).

As you can see in the image, light is leaking behind my wall sweeps even though the sweeps themselves are flush with the exterior face of wall. I have checked and even inset my sweeps 1" into the walls to see if that would fix the issue. I did not.

Is this issue still being worked on? Has anyone found a work around?

It’s not exactly a light leak; it’s the way it deals with shadows on projecting artifacts against walls - I’m afraid I have not found an efficient or consistent work-around; all the work-arounds involve more work than it’s worth and all are outwith Enscape :frowning:

(You can ‘chisel out’ the underlying wall with an inverse curve under the molding, but it only works for a specific viewing distance. You can create a darker texture under the molding, but it only works for a specific lighting setting and viewing distance… or you can adjust it in pot production.)

@PrestonM Could you share the project file with our support team via and please send in Feedback as well mentioning the ticket number please. This way we should receive all necessary information to analyze it properly.

Thanks Gadget. It does seem to be projecting shadows onto the interior plane of the wall. I ended up rendering the exterior lighting as high in the sky as I could which minimized the problem.
