Shinjuku Street

Here is the first frame of an animation im working on. Started this project a while ago and then shuffled it aside to accomodate pay work but finally got back to it around december last year. Once the animation is finished i’ll update this post.

Modeled in Modo, Surfaced and lit in Max/Vray, Comped in Nuke

Really great work!

:shock::shock:

Soo, that’s a photograph you want to recreate? When are you gonna start the 3d work.

Hehe, just kidding, really really really good work there, now i want to see the animation;).

This is CG? I’m looking for 3d objects, but everything looks like a photo :slight_smile:

Stunning !
I’d love to see it at night - or sunset, great great work !

really good 3d-scene. love the details and texture-work. do you have a reference foto to work after?
one thing bothers my eye, though. i think you should correct the color-levels (too much red now).
below some minor changes how i would like to see it, hope you don’t mind.

The scene was fantastic to begin with, but the colour correction - spot on man! Even more photo-real if you ask me.

Thanks for the comments and crits, guys. I finish work on a job today so some time this weekend i’ll have a little time to get back to the animation.

deneb26: The image is based on some photos but I didnt go as far as trying to match an exact angle or look. As for the coloring, I used a warmer color grade on purpose because I wanted it to look a certain way rather than just matching color levels from a real image. I appreciate your input but I think your color grade may be more appropriate for an indoor environment using florescent lights. I will, however, change some color levels for the final animation and will most likely post multiple versions.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I love VRay. lol :smile:
