Anyone that’s there (here) - feel free to add to the photo collection please. These photos are from Autodesk’s presentation pre-SIGGRAPH. The on-going joke of the night was how they (Autodesk and Alias) were up on the same stage together for the first time. The other joke was how no one in the industry really has much of a choice now…
They had a bunch of presenters. This is ILM showing their work on Pirates of the Carribean. They talked alot about modeling Davy Jones tentacles. This is Davy side by side with the actor:
I snuck out towards the end of the Autodesk presentation and found food and beer - and Rerender (Eric Boer)! He was the first person I recognized name-tag wise. Keep in mind there’s a lot of people from and it’s hard to read everyone’s name tag. So we got a good laugh out of our religion thread before we snapped this photo. I’m really not that short but he’s pretty freakin tall (I should add he’s standing on a slope and probably close to 6’4):
Someone with a normal height - Richard Rosenman. He’s a real trip. This is 4 beers later:
Bumping into several more people:
(myself, Throb (Rob Nederhorst), his Speedshape coworker from with eye accidently shut - Linden Vennard, Corey on the forum from ASGVis (Rhino and Sketchup plugin), and a salesperson that snuck in there.) Forgive me if I don’t recall names. This is 6 beers later.
The after party at the Roxy - all graphics people clubbing:
Rerender silo’d with the background. I couldn’t get off a good shot cause the lights kept strobbing. And there were more drinks:
I could not find them and kept looking around all night. Supposedly they were there. But it’s difficult when you’ve never seen someone before. All I knew was: ‘Bulgarian-guy with blondish hair, muscles, and glasses.’
EGZ may have been there too. I’ve gotta watch my long-distance telephone bills to Norway when he’s probably standing right next to us… I still have no idea how much that will cost lol.
Anyhow - will head down to the exhibit today and try to grab some more photos for everyone.
Funny you should mention that I don’t know if you are a fan of countdown - MSNBC 9.00pm on the West Coast. He has been having a mini war with O’reilly - because O’really? is a lying sack of s**t and Nazi defender.
Check it out:
“On the air in the last year, Bill O’Reilly has defended the Nazis from World War II on three separate occasions. … Yes, I wish I were making this up.” Ketih Olberman on Jay Leno
