Similar feature to Maxwells Simulens

Hello Chaos Team,

Just wondering whether features like this wil be ever planned for vray???

i am after these light energy glows and advanced lens effects, which i currently fake through post…

thanks

best regards

Yes, but I cannot say for certain in which version.

Best regards,
Vlado

Thanks for a quick reply Vlado.
That is a great news indeed and i will happily wait

Best regards

Is the Maxwell type lens effect an actual render effect though? Since you apply it to the .mxi file afterwards I assumed it could, in theory, be done in any post program. Is there an advantage to having that directly in Vray?

It is a post-effect indeed. Doing it in Maxwel/V-Ray/3ds Max simply saves you time from going to another application.

Best regards,
Vlado

guys do u know any post prod tool that does this?

http://randomcontrol.com/images/randomcontrol/gallery/fryrender/02.%20interiors/030.jpg

plugin or post processing sof that allows diffraction, lens scattering, glare etc???

Foundry’s Tinder wich is available both for nuke and AE and alike has T_Starburst wich does something similar to glare :

Tinder 2 has Chromatic for imperfect lens sim :

Tinder 3 has a diffusion effect wich does that hazy look to a certain extent :

Other things to use include LensBlurs or glints (dunno how these would be called in the various apps if available at all)

Great Thorsten, thanks a lot for these
