Since Windows update this morning I can't open or run any packages that have Enscape Plugin loaded

Hi,

Since this morning when Windows performed an update, I seem to be getting runtime errors in every software package that has Enscape plugins installed. When I remove Enscape then the packages work fine.

I’ve downloaded the latest build, updated my GPU drivers to the latest one etc. and still not luck.

Any ideas? I’m going to attach some log files also which might help you see what’s happening. I use Enscape a lot in my day to day work and have a big VR project that I need to use it for coming up
Logs.zip (48.2 KB)

Any news, anyone?

@jpmartin964 , thanks a lot for your input and for attaching the logs already - Would you kindly please also send me a Feedback Report as detailed here, just so we’ll receive all the additional files/information not yet attached. I can also tell that you’re using an outdated version of Enscape 3.2, so please acquire and install the latest hotfix release from our download page.

I know it can be an annoying process, but if possible please also kindly try reinstalling the CAD solution(s) in which you experience this.

In addition, could you attach a few screenshots which display the runtime errors? Just in case I need to forward it to our developers. Thanks a lot in advance!

Thx Demian,

I’ll send the feedback in a sec.

Its really weird, I can’t use any of the latest 3.2 build versions but can use the latest 3.1 build strangely, following the windows update on the 14th Jan. Prior to that it worked absolutely fine with the 62705 build.

Please see attached the Windows update builds for reference too

this is basically what happens when I install any of the 3.2 builds, this is the latest current one though. Exactly the same thing happens with Sketchup Pro 2021 and the programs crash shortly afterwards

I’m strongly wondering if I should possibly uninstall the windows updates on the 14th Jan to see if this helps the problem

it pretty much crashes before i can send the feedback too. I might have to reinstall the older 3.1 build to be able to send the feedback

That would be great so that we can potentially also get any crashdumps that were created.

If the update of Enscape does not help, then it may very well be worth trying to revert the windows update indeed - Thank you already in advance for the report as well!

Feedback was sent and should have included the logs too.

I’ll try and get a crash dump also

i think it sends the crash dump direct to ArchiCAD

Thanks a ton, I received the Feedback report accordingly.

If you could in the meantime while we analyze the report re-install any of the CAD solutions at hand, then we can also make sure it isn’t caused by a faulty CAD installation.

And of course, as mentioned, please let us know whether or not reverting your latest windows updates also helps.

I suffered a different but related problem… That windows update completely destroyed my VPN access, so I did end up backing out the update.

There have been several subsequent updates to windows 10 and was hoping it would fix itself, but as yet that’s not the case. I might have to end up upgrading to win 11 in the hope it’ll sort itself out for there

@Demian_Gutberlet Just wondering if it might be an option to do a web call with the dev team so they can look into my machine and what its doing, as I’ve completed all of their requests and still no joy. I’ve also upgraded to win 11 with no luck.

Something odd has happened and it really needs diagnosing by someone with more knowledge of what could be going wrong I think.

@jpmartin964 , my colleague will get back to you via the case accordingly - We have also filed a bug report for this behavior but perhaps a web call may be required, often our developers are able to find the cause behind such crashes through the submitted log-files and crashdumps. In any case, please kindly follow his further instructions and we’ll get behind this issue!

Thx @Demian_Gutberlet . That was the hardest thing, that i couldn’t send the crash dumps via feedback as I couldn’t get that far to complete that action before it crashed out and ArchiCAD generally sends all its crash dumps straight to Graphisoft direct

Hi @Demian_Gutberlet , just to let you know that Geforce asked me to do another graphics driver update this morning and that appears to have fixed all the issues. 3.2 Builds working fine again.

Thx for all the help.

That’s very lovely to hear, I’m glad! Thanks for the update.

If you ever experience any further problems again, let me know and feel free to contact support as well again of course.
