Whenever I click on asset editor Sketchup 2018 closes and gives a bug splat. We’re currently using 3.60.0.2 I tried reverting to 3.60.0.1 and vray just crashes on startup instead. I also reinstalled Sketchup along with Vray and no luck. I have other computers around the office with the same set up of Sketchup 2018 and 3.60.0.2 but this is the only one that seems problematic.

ive just come across the same problem!
vray was working fine, now everytime i click the assett editors it just crashes. i do have Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package x64 installed on the machine
vray now will not open in any of my 3d models, it just crashes sketchup each time - currently on a deadline for some work for a client, and im left high and try with vray not working!

I had a very similar issue as this for one of our machines when i upgraded to SU 2018 (Uninstalled Old Versions of Vray and gave that a fresh install too). Like Steve and as is usually the case, when theres a deadline, things dont work! After some diagnostics (uninstall/reinstall of vray, manual deletion of configuration folders left behind etc), i found it was a user profile based issue. I logged into another account and it worked perfectly fine. My solution (As we were in a AD based network) was to backup the user profile. Delete the profile and re-login. Sketchup and Vray both then worked perfectly. If your PCs are standalone i assume you could just make a new user account and move your data across. This does result in a loss of all preferences etc and id only recommend as a last ditch option.
This only happened to one of the 20+ PCs i upgraded. And due to the deadline i didn’t have time to contact support to resolve the issue properly.

hi, (sorry i seem to always be on here if i have a problem!)
so i resolved the issue yesterday by reinstalling (i should reiterate i am on a trial at the moment, debating whether or not to commit to vray) - so today i have a new problem - this morning all was ok, now i click render and the v ray frame buffer screen comes up, but doesnt do anything. (its not calculating, as the resolution i want to render at is 1980 x 10xx and the frame buffer screen is showing 640 x 480 - ie when you first fire it up it usually does this for a second, then enlarges to the desired render size and continues to render) - however now - nothing!
please can anyone help, as i need to leave on overnight to render!
ps, i did the usual restart and nothing is happening!
(update) - there seemed to be a problem with the saved view in sketchup that was a match photo view - i saved a new view and vray now seems to be firing up - could be a bug which hopefully you will fix on the next issue!
I have found in the past with that issue resetting the config files for vray have helped. Especially after you had some crashing issues.
If you go to the folder path “%appdata%” and rename “Chaos Group” and “vrayneui” to “Chaos Group.old” and “vrayneui.old” respectively.
Vray will act as if its the first time opening and recreate the files (You will have to set up any customised settings like swarm tags etc. Thats whats fixed it for me in the past. Of course this doesn’t help figure out what the original issue was. If it happens repeatedly id recommend contacting the ChaosGroup support.
I’m having the same crashing issues. Once the Asset Editor is clicked, SketchUp crashes. Everything worked fine for a week or so, then out of the blue the crashing started. Tried several clean uninstalls and reinstalls--still crashes.

It seems like I have the same problem. I just recently installed Sketchup 2018 pro and Vray 36002 it was just my first time trying to use it. Everything was working fine until I closed Sketchup and opened it again. And now it crashes every time I try to open Vray editor. I do Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package x64 installed.

I have the same issue as everyone on this thread. After multiple resets and uninstalling some plug-ins, Vray worked again. However, it is unstable; there’s no knowing if it will work again the next time. Do you recommend re-installation for both SketchUp and VRay?

Exactly same problem here! Using Vray trial 36002 + sketchup 2018 + Win 10 *64, and sketchup crashes everytime when clicking on asset editor or render. Everything was fine a day before.
1. Tried uninstall/reinstall both sketchup and Vray several times (even uninstall the Chaos License Server and Vray Swarm);
2. Being sure I have Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Packages *64 on this PC;
3. Already stopped all other extensions for sketchup except Vray;
4. Account profiles(name, paths, etc.) are all in English;
5. All above checked with sketchup closed and immediate restart.
What else could help in this case? Thank you!
