Here is a small project, turned a pain in the butt with changes, that I thought I would share. Anyway, I lost my mojo early on, so it is pretty weak, but it’s done.
I’d say it’s a tough bit of architecture to make look nice with all the various lines running off in weird fashions but again that’s the design you had to work with. People are integrated nicely, the television looks pasted in for me - even though it’s a light emitting surface I reckon you’d be better off making it look like a worse tv and putting a sheet of glass over it to pick up some reflections of the room to integrate it. Nice thing is your sense of exposure is getting more and more solid recently.
Quite nice! I like the stone wall in particular, it has good looking depth to it. Is the old man 3D?
Yes. all the people are 3D, but the old man is my favorite. I purchased the people from here: http://www.humanalloy.com/
I am glad we can blame the architecture on the illustration :).
Much better, draws your eye less.
Looks very nice Bobby. I like it. I would just move the guy one step up or one step down, as the “white” stone in the wall looks like its coming out the back of his head. But I’m just being fussy now…
Huh, thanks for the link. I’m surprised I’ve never seen that site before even though I google 3D people every now and then.
there is a lot said for SEO

here is an update. The architect insisted on landscape; showing the entrance, but I tried to convince her that it would look better in portrait. My thought was, that the space had a few things going for it. It had the slate floor, stone wall, and wood ceiling. In portrait we could show more of all of it, and emphasis the height of the space. But, she wanted landscape, because she thought it was important for the owner (the owner of the building) to see that the stairs were by the entrance, which really makes no sense. The owner knows where the front door, and the only stairs are. Plus the strong sun will imply it is at the entrance.
Anyway… here is my view.
I think the bloom and glare from the previous version looks much better. This is just way over the top…
wow, you are correct. It looks great on my iPad! I’ll have to tweak it.
I really like the filter effect. I am trying that now on a project. I will use either 3dsmax filters and/or Vray Toon. I am trying to get my renderings to look a little more like Works-in-Progress to avoid my clients asking me questions that are way too specific. We will see how that works out for me.
I like seeing your projects. They seem like real-world projects at a not too huge scale (which is what i work on). Keep em coming…
Thanks! Yep, I am in the mud, most every day. Real projects, with real deadlines ![]()
very good visualization & bad design, the L shape sectional is right in front of the stair…it looks tight.
actually if you want to watch what is going on the tv you have to be stand up like your rendering… neither of the sectional or sofa are facing the TV
Yes. the design went back to the table after they saw what it would look like. They liked the rendering, but hated the design. I guess it looked good on paper (2d)
yeah dude. As im not a fan of any effects CA, flare, bloom, etc I’d say lose the lot but the earlier version did look better. This reminds me of mushrooms ![]()
yes. I got a little ( a lot) carried away.
