smoothing problem (again)

I have read other threads about how to reassign the vraymaterial to the actual geometry and then regroup it.

It worked fine for my yellow standard vray sphere here except for those 2 blocky “cuts” on the shadows visible on the right side of the sphere.

Sollutions?

Thanks for your time!

Re: smoothing problem (again)

You created this sphere with VfSU sphere, right?

Re: smoothing problem (again)

excactly, the standard sphere from the vray toolbar

Re: smoothing problem (again)

I get that with the standard V-Ray sphere as well. Dunno why.
When I create one manually I don’t get that.

Re: smoothing problem (again)

thanks guys, will make my own balls from now on =)

Re: smoothing problem (again)

Yeah, same for me. That’s why asked if thats the way he created it. Never mind what i’ve tried it always remains like that. It’s seems as VfSU Bug. A minor but a bug.

Re: smoothing problem (again)

I always wondered, but never asked… what’s the point of the “V-Ray Sphere”?

Re: smoothing problem (again)

Maybe it’s the ASGVis’s teapot..?

Re: smoothing problem (again)

The Sphere is just for make test.

Best

Re: smoothing problem (again)

Question is then: does it justify to occupy a toolbar space? With the large number of plugins - screen estate is precious. So why not take it out and leave the space for more useful functions?

Re: smoothing problem (again)

It would be better if it was a more complex geometry insted of a simple sphere : like teapot for 3ds or the ape’s head of Blender. Perhaps guys of the Vray team have to find a geometry which would be like the “symbol” of Vray…

Re: smoothing problem (again)

I’d rather just have the icon space back, SU’s crappy un-customizable toolbars mean I’ve got way too many icons I don’t need already (Before anyone chirps in, yes I know you can switch toolbars on and off, but you can’t customize individual icons).
