Thank’s

Hi

i have a question: why there isn’t a history tool in the SP2? It’s hidden?

thank’s

cecofuli

For the VFB? It has always been hidden…

Best regards,
Vlado

Very nice, Can someone post the changelog / list of new features ??

normaly you read the readme.rtf file after installing

V-Ray 1.5 Service Pack 2 for 3ds Max readme

New features

Compatibility
·Compatibility with 3ds Max 2009;
·Support for the Lighting Analysis Overlay render effect in 3ds Max 2009;
·V-Ray specific Defaults switcher for 3ds Max;

VRayProxy
·Support for animated deforming VRayProxy objects;

Lights
·VRayLights in rectangle mode can now be texture-mapped;
·Texture-mapped dome lights use better sampling and have faster preparation phase;
·VRayIES light specifically optimized for rendering with V-Ray;

Render to texture
·HDR output for texture-baked render elements;
·VRay_SelfIlluminationMap texture baking element;
·VRay_BumpNormalsMap texture baking element to extract bump-mapped normals;

Render elements
·VRay_ExtraTex render element to store the result from the calculation of any extra texture map on shaded surfaces without the need to actually apply the map in their materials (can be used with VRayDirt for AO pass, or with Vertex Color map for UVW channels pass, or with Falloff map for custom z-depth pass or top/bottom etc);
·VRay_SampleRate render element to show the image sampling rate;
·VRay_BumpNormals render element and VRayBumpNormalsMap bake render element to extract bump-mapped normals;
·VRay_Illuminance render element for displaying the illuminance in the scene in physical units;

Shadows
·VRayShadowMap shadow generator that works with all V-Ray geometry objects (proxies, displacement, fur etc);

Materials
·VRaySimbiontMtl material specifically optimized for rendering procedural DarkTree shaders (requires installation of either DarkTree or SimbiontMAX from http://www.darksim.com);

Thank you for posting it. I downloaded but I am in the middle of a project, can not install it

With surprise, i believe that the History tool isn’t hidden in this version. I use it a lot and works very well :smile:

And the illuminance elements. How works? I made some test, with VRayIES light and VRayPhyCamera. All work very well too, but the illuminance is in B/W and is very bright.

Thanks a lot…

I m not at the office can someone post the bugs fix’s list please ?

Best regards…

Hi

oh, yes, you can see HERE

bye

cecofuli

Thanks !!!

I tried to download it and got to a blank page saying done and nothing happening . any clues why?

OK I found the error! it was kaspersky blocking the link.. strange cause it was working for the demos..

It IS hidden.
You only need to have a system variable VRAY_VFB_HISTORY set to 1, once, to have it visible for every version that has it.

Hats off to the Simbiont addon, and to the IES lights Vlado.
Both are very quick and predictable.
Also, i love the sample rate render channel, it’s a big aid to see how things are being sampled, which for this version of the DMC sampler is most intelligently and cleanly.
Finally, lowering dmc noise threshold, and raising max subdivs cleans up the picture to no noise at all.
Superb. :slight_smile:

Ehhh :slight_smile: … i know lele and i use every day. But i have no crash, no bug with history and i don’t know why this tool is in SP2 hidden.

Hello Vlado,

Do you plan to update the VRay Documentation soon ?

Best regards…

Ooh, I have to check this one out. :smile:

IES suport is simply great. Fast, and the shadow patterns from the sampling of the actual light shape look stunning even in a boring archviz scene.

Thank you very much for your efforts making VRay better and better!

Best regards,
A.

You’re 1000x right :slight_smile:

Best regards…

Unfortunately, I get a crash when I try to load the images.

Other than that, the VRayIES is working very well, much faster than the standard max photometric. The dark tree materials look interesting, I have to try them out some more. Has the noise threshold changed? I have to test some more, but using the same settings I was using before the render seems to take longer, but now lower settings produce less noise too, so maybe that is the difference.

Hmm… can someone explain what the “hidden” history feature is?
