Spacemouse & walking mode (3.2.0 preview7)

Hello,

I’m not absolutely certain about it, but I think this bug appeared on the last preview version (I don’t remember facing this issue before).

I’m sometimes using a 3dconnexion Spacemouse to navigate in the Enscape window.

At the moment, whenever I use the Spacemouse, it skips the walking mode to enter the flying mode, wich is a little annoying to navigate in my models…

The issue occurs in Sketchup and Revit.

Did anyone meet the same problem ? Is there any workaround ?

Thank you very much !

Clement

Hi @Mammouth

Do you mean you are not able to switch back to walk mode at all?

Additionally, is this still occurring in our latest preview?

If so, please also send in a feedback report including the log files via the Enscape Feedback Button and add a link to this thread in the description.

Hi Rick, thank you.

Sorry it took me some time to answer.

I can switch back to walk mode (with the space shortcut or the icon), but anytime I touch the spacemouse it turns back to fly mode…

It’s still occuring in the latest preview.

Maybe it was like this from the beginning, and I just have a bad memory… but I thought I was able to walk around the model using the spacemouse in earlier versions.

Hey @Mammouth

this is intended. Enscape 3.2 supports the newer space mouse drivers now. With that the control of the camera is entirely in the hands of the space mouse driver, which means we cannot handle collisions in walkmode anymore.

I don’t think this is a good move. It’s going backwards in usability. 3D mouse in walk mode is the best and the most professional looking way to move through a building. Being able to have full adjustment over all the other settings is not worth the loss of this function.
