I was wondering, is there like general awareness that the default sRGB curves is Vray and Adobe are different. I guess it would be expect just this is the first time that i actually notice difference when opening exr in PS after saving from VFB.
Or might it be that this release is having different curve ?

Are you using a monitor profile? If so then this may explain it. Max doesn’t read monitor profiles from Windows where PS does. You can overcome this by loading the profile into the VFB then it will match.
If you’re not using a profile and you are sure you’re not by checking Windows Color Management, then it may be something else. If Windows Color Management has anything other than “nothing (just blank)” or sRGB in the profile, then you ARE using a profile
there is a bit of difference in the blacks. sRGB vs gamma 2.2 thing.
i have same sRGB profile in VFB and PS to what i checked. also i calibrate monitors max every month so there should be no issue with this.
It is not a disaster is just that i noticed it for the first time now.

If you calibrate monitors every month with a hardware device then you will have an icc or similar file that contains your calibrated profile. That is loaded into Windows Color Management.
Adobe automatically picks up and read that profile from Windows.
Max IGNORES that profile so you have to explicitly load/assign that FILE into your VFB
