SSS Tentacles

Hey,

at first, Hello to all users of this forum ! Nice to be here

This is a little SSS Test i did yesterday, to get used to the material settings. Just a test, but it worked quite well…

Best Regards,

Thomaskl

That’s good and disgusting all at the same time

Thanks for feedback,

well, its a close-up photo of the stuff, which is growing in my refrigerator  hehe, no - i just wanted to test the SSS Capabilities of Vray and this obj. was perfect for testing the shader.

Regards,
Thomaskl

hey. That’s really something; to catch all the photographic attributes but still let it be unrecognisable

lovely- uncanny

looks like something they used to serve in my high schools caffiteria. cool render dude

very nice
what were the render times like?

Rendertimes…

I hoped, that nobody would ask for it…

ok, taking deep breath…about 9 hours on a Dual DualCore Operton 1800 Workstation. GI pass went through really fast..(about half an hour…), but the glossy-DOF Stuff took quite long…I am currently experiencing some problems, when i do try to render a little bigger. Rendertime suddenly explodes (in Pre-Pass Period) by just switching to 100 pixels bigger image…I am just researching this problem,

Regards,

Thomas

Re:

That rendertime should go down a LOT when you have access to the new fastSSS shader they showed at Siggy last year.

Now to figure out how to use the FastSSS

Nice looking images, render times are a killer at the moment though!

it really is disgusting!! good job

rendertimes… whenever I am down about my own I do a search and come across ones like 9 hours  and then I don’t feel so bad. If only I didn’t have to animate as well

excellent, very well done!

that’s a realistic looking placenta… hehehe

Re:
