standard material to vray

I’ve noticed that when converting an objects material that has a texture mapped to it, that when i make that material a vray material and bring in the texture to the diffuse slot on the vray material that the placement of the texture is different. The map moves slightly. is there a reason for this or a way to get the map back to where it belongs without remapping it?

(I’m converting from standard material to vray material)

Can you post an image of how this looks? Ideally there should be no difference at all, as V-Ray handles texture coordinates identically for standard and V-Ray materials.

here’s a sample of converting standard material to vray material…same textures, no remapping.

Hm, I see. I’ll need the scene for this to be able to tell more though; you can send it to vlado@chaosgroup.com, if possible.

never mind…call me a moron…i found the problem…it was too obvious…the standard material was set at 180 in the 'w" slot while the vray was default 0. Sorry to have bothered you.

Ah  I’m glad it’s sorted out.
