Stills: Hot and Dusty

Hi,

Its been a while since my “Sunny Afternoon” post, i had some trouble with my computer and lost some very precious work in the proces. But i would like to share my latest work.

Now that i had some spare time i created something that has been sitting in my head for quite some time now. I was going for a stylistic look and bright atmosphere. The enviroment should resemble black rock dessert and i hope i captured the dry desert feeling.

I worked on it for 3 days and might do an animation in the future with it…i have already some ideas for it but it will have to wait for a while.

I used 3dmax 5.1 for modeling/compositing, vray-Advanced for rendering and photoshop for post-production work and painting…
They are all rendered in res 5000x3000 pixels…took about an hour and a half for each…

you can view the higher res versions here:

I really like how the dust travels under the car and scoops up just past the rear in the first image. My two favorite out of all would be one and four.

What are you using for the dust?

--Jon

the dust is painted in by hand using photoshop

thnx

niels

Congrats !

yes looks great! but the sail material could use some translucency to give it some added realism…
