Yes, I will make a note for this; however you won’t get any speculars from the lights in that case.

Yes, but i can duplicate the light, a directionnal for example, and uncheck “emit diffuse” and “use raytrace shadows”. It will do the trick no ?
To some extent… if shadows are disabled, you will get hilights even on objects that are in shadow. Of course, it may or may not matter for the final result.

Perhaps add a “shadow information” on each points in the vrmap, like : this point is in the shadwos, this point no, and add a checkbox in the light like : “specular in affected by shadows irradiance map”.
It is a idea, but i think is not the best way.
I think the best way is give the possibility to Vray to load multiple vrmap, and each light have these “vrmap option”, like this
:
But it not the subject of this post.
Hi,
Any new about this ?
And, it is possible to have this on VraySun please ?
Thank you.
This has been implemented in the latest nightly builds for all the Maya lights when you add the additional V-Ray light attributes; it’s not implemented for the V-Ray sun yet, but you can use a directional light for the time being.
Best regards,
Vlado
Thank you Vlado.
