Sun position

Enscape team,

I’m familiar with how to change the sun position in SketchUp and Enscape, but it would be awesome to have an option to force sun position over the origin. I spend a lot of time every model trying to accomplish this with Ctrl or Shft + U and I. Just wanted to throw this out there to see if that’s a possible option to add as a feature request. Thank you!

Best regards,

Aaron Marr

Hey @amarr , sorry, would you be so very kind to rephrase “over the origin”? I’m not quite sure what you mean by that. Thanks!

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, I use this plugin within SketchUp to dynamically change the north direction of the file (sun position). That way I don’t have to rotate the model.

yes!! @amarr It would definitely be awesome to be able to manage the sun’s rotation and height. I believe you are referring to the origin as the center point, around which the sun rotates? Their have been talks about Enscape’s own sun!!! maybe soon

it would be nice to have completely control over the suns position, so i can have the evening sun just where i wan’t it.

i know i can use solor-north, but it would be nice if it was a feature inside enscape.

just a through.

edit: i found out how to use Set North in sketchup, so i’m good for now :slight_smile:

@Jorgensen_dk Have you checked our controls for the sun position?

You can adjust the solar rotation and angle - have a look at our knowledgebase article.

@Jonathan_Knoefel

no i was not aware of that - that’s cool.

i’m trying to update the view settings with the new sunsetting - but rightclick and update seems not to save the changes. How do I save the new sun settings?

Jorgensen

@Jorgensen_dk Do you want to save it in your View? If so, you have to create a new one out of Enscape.
