I try to create a sunset Render,
I want to know If I can use the GI sun and the background I can use bitmap (JPG ) instead of a HDR Image. When I render the sample the GI Illumination is ok, but the Background Image is very bad and I can’t create the effect of use the Image in the Environment spherical way, any help?

yes you can, but it’s not going to look good.
the hdri (high dinamical range image) is an image that contains a lot of information, to create one single hdr format image we have to mix several pictures (the same one) in order to save all of the different light intensities in one single picture…
so… as i just said, you can use the jped image, but it’s not going to be the same… if what you’re trying to do is use one image you took by yourself, or from a real site or something, maybe you should try by making it an hdri.
there are several online tutorials that show how to do that with photoshop.
