Holy crap that’s awesome
Spitfire
Well.. I would think it was real.
really well done. the water doesn’t look perfect, but its not bad. Id take a look at that wave object that has been floating around the forum. I can’t recall whats its called or I’d say.
Really nice work! Great to see something other than a room!
Thank you very much..
Thank you guys for all your kind words.
I was asked if it would be possible to make a simulation from the supermarine spitfire…
It didn’t really took to long, and the entire animation was rendered on one computer - thx to vray it was really pretty fast and I could finish the entire animation in 3 days.
the camera animation took the longest time - I realized that we do have so many technical stuff to know for ohter projects, that it’s really hard getting to the point were you can enjoy directing a little bit - and having the freedom to create the simulation that’s in your head - and so it was a lot of fun to do that between all the arch stuff.
thx a lot,
bernhard
lol, I can imagine that. and it turned out great.
Great work !!
Bernhard,
Do you have an alternative link to your animation? Youtube has been blocked in our office.
nice…love the sound track, the german talking? and the other sounds. Did you record those yourself?

@MHenry:
I’ve uploaded you a better quality divx compressed version here:

hope that helps.
@mikeh:
yeah, germans are talking .. “wir werden angegriffen, allemann in Kampfbereitschaft.. lol” that means, basicly we are under attack, get ready for fight… No I didn’t record myself, could find on different places in the internet. It’s always hard to find some specific sound files you do need for something like this. It’s not really perfect, but it works for that very short test I think. and it’s funny, seearchign for some sound files took longer than the entire animation. lol:
Thank you for all your kind words, I wish I would have time to make a real cg short animation one day - anyway, I really appreciate all your comments, thank you very much.
bernhard
Looks great. Have you seen this spitfire clip on youtube?
Awesome.
Great camera work ![]()
How did you get the camera shake in the shot propeller shot? It’s very well synced.
thank you
Thank you very much for all your kind words, I really appreciate that.
@sjmoir:
Yeah, I have seen, that was really close…
@KVMaster:
Well, I first tried to use a noise controller in 3d and tried different shots just as a preview animation in the viewport. But I could find out very soon, once the shot is rendered with that camera shake, it’s hard to change it in postwork, and there is no other way to re-render. And well, I didn’t like that idea.
So I ddi the following. I rendered these specific images a little bit bigger without any camera noise effect in 3d. So the images were rendered without any shake.
I could find out, that this method is much better, because I really can adjust the intensity of the camera shake in post much easier, and even if the client will tell me, man, that is to much shake, I don’t like it, I can go back and make it much smoother.
I used after effects without any plugin… hmmm… hope that helps you a litle bit.
ok, thank you guys,
bernhard
