Please look at this error message and tell me what it means? Rendering does not connect to nodes and my image ends up like a checkerboard of missing bucket information.

It’s hard to tell from the screenshot why the SWARM nodes are not starting to render.
You can check if the license settings are correctly set - V-Ray Swarm
Also - you can navigate in your internet browser to the log page of a certain SWARM node - for example http://192.168.16.21:24267/log and check if an error will be listed after you start a render (you can post a screenshot if there in an error).
