This is quite literally one of the most basic boring designs I’ve rendered in 15 years. And I really didn’t have the freedom of covering it up with trees. What can you do??? I hope I pulled it off… Comments? Ideas??
wow, your right about that. I’d probably darken the foreground grass to better frame the building.
John,
I recently did an industrial site and feel your pain.
If that’s metal cladding I’d increase reflectivity quite a bit (even if it’s powder coated). Same thing goes for the sylo on the right. Put some lines, skid marks etc to break up the road surface. Are the little squares windows? They dont reflect the sky at all?
Hope this might help
Zoran
hey
with all my design experience i would…(well client permitting) i have had several industrial boat storage facilities that look exactly the same, it has come to my exp. ( i see you have some vertical banding in the walls) i would extract them a little bit maybe give the facade some contrast. but if client does like then your are scr***** lol…=)
oooo. its a cube… with some booleans!!! hehe. man i feel your pain. mine are not as boring but im tired as hell of the typical tropical colonial style architecture i have to do down here
dont put it in your folio and have fun spending the money ![]()
Make a version for yourself with it on fire and you may feel better.
It is a thing of beauty.
You can’t polish a turd.
Talk about Dull Architecture… ??? Talk about easy money ![]()
Most of us have been there at some point, no big deal provided you don’t have to produce renderings like that all the time!
Regarding the image, the trees in the background look like a photo to me - i’d use geometry for the ones immediately in sight, and those behind that perhaps use photos.
The grass to me looks out of perspective with the image, like it’s a photo that’s been set in there.
I tired to jazz up a render like this making it wet before, client didn’t like it, but I had fun. I like the fire idea too! Not really marketable though ![]()
hahhhha
ROFL ! hahahhahahha fire!
I feel your pain. Maybe a different time of day to add some drama to the lighting - perhaps a sunrise/sunset type of shot or lighting with an HDRI.
Maybe put a bunch of flowers in front and some birds flying around in the sky.
yes you can. With ALOT of spray on shellac. Then polish to hearts content. Hugs his polished turd sitting on his desk.
And maybe some ambient occlusion to restore some depth and detail to the building. Agree with geometry trees in front of the 2D background trees. Also agree with changing the time of day to something more dramatic. If you have VRay Scatter, now would be the time to have fun with the foreground grass.
Nice suggestions everyone…
I’ll see if I can find some time to update the rendering. Wish I had VS in the toolbox right now, but I don’t. I’m seeing some phenomenal stuff in that grass thread!!!
add a worker drinking a rum and coke in the background. it will spice up the image
yeah i think this kind of job relies on distractions such as forground stuff and maybe more equipment around the place. I know its a hassle, but this and the other suggestions regarding materials are what is required to “polish a turd”
I hate the polishing part as well
At the other end of the spectrum of job shitness, I love those jobs where you dont have to do anything…the design is just so good that you cant go wrong.
Parking lot lines. More lines in the road. More cars. More people. Tone down the brightness of your grass.
