Even if it takes years to get support for this, it is interesting how nvidia is dipping its fingers into Intels pie. First with motherboard chipsets now with this. I wonder how these really stack up against a traditional CPU. I do not know much about processors only that these GPU’s have evolved at a faster rate then CPU’s.
Well, in competition, the winner in the end is the consumer (hopefully).

GPUs are many, many times faster than CPUs for 3d calculations since they are highly parallel processors with instructions for vectors and matrices.
