texsnow, texwood, texwater.....smoke....rock....

Hello

I am still new to vray for sketchup, but have done render before, but just wonder what all the tex… in the texture
editor do? I am excited to participate the ICE Render competition but don’t understand what is “fall off”.

sorry if this sounds like stupid question,

Bert

These are all new map types - which I’d also like to know how works. I got no idea. ???

Re: texsnow, texwood, texwater…smoke…rock…

they are new procedural maps. so dont ever think of seams or repaeating tiling they are procedural textures.

Re: texsnow, texwood, texwater…smoke…rock…

Yeah, the new texture types UI is a bit messy. We had a decision to make: Either don’t put the ugly UI’d textures in the product, or put them in and tell people to not use them if they don’t like them. We chose option B. As a result the new texture types are a bit scary to look at. We don’t know how they work either, they were sitting there in the V-Ray SDK not being used, so we figured we might as well let people play with them.
