On the left you can see my VFB, on the right you can see what i see when i open the saved .exr from that same VFB in photoshop.

I didn’t notice the difference when i made the other layers, but now i clearly see. What gives?

How does it look if you open the .exr image in 3ds Max (File > View image…)?

I think having the “premultiplied alpha” ticked off was causing this. Is this on by default?

I think it should be on by default (e.g. the alpha is premultiplied usually).
