the first render with my new vray- a little room

hello guys, now with the new vray, i am really happy, finally i have done a render without that stupid error messages " unhandled exception ) that was a nightmare for me. i would like to ask you guys a little question, this images have the same settings but the firt one was rendered without store irradiance at vraylights, it tooks 10 hours to be finished and the second one was renderred with store actived on the lights, but it tooks only 2:30… the weird thing is that it looks like with store actived , i have no power on the lights, any of you know what is the deal? i would like to know if there is a way to use store and achieve also quality, because the render times are really far diferentes each other.

I like it a lot…very nice render

TD

Very good Silver … i Like the picture in the frame

hey tdarcy thanks bro’

hello naty, have you seen the famous artist on the frame? lol, lets see if somebody else can dig who is the famous character at the picture

it look really good…can u tell me the material of the white wall and how did u achieve that kind of floor..

hello smooth, i dont have nothing diferent at the white wall, what did you notice there wich have called yuor atention? and the flor i used a tile with a material marble from digimation textures

a new angle now, tell me what do you think guys,

both angles are very nice!

thanks percydaman, good to hear this from you

What are your irradiance map settings? I do think its suffering from a lack of gi detail on many edges, makes them look like they are floating.

well, i used to think as 800 x 600 in -3 0 would be a good solution, so, if i rendered in 2400 x 1600, i increase two points, thus, i have sed -5 -2 adn 80 in subdivisions, do you think tis not enough?

Those sound alright I guess, but theres also your color threshold, your normal threshold, and your distance threshold. Those can be very important for getting good gi detail in tight areas.

hey silver. aswome work

Great scene! The only thing that I think is disturbing the overall beautiful render is the map for the flowers.

Detailed… Good lighting…

hey guys, thanks for nice words  thanks da_elf , focusing and jet crow
hey percydaman, i’ve used ,5 ,5 ,5 in those values, crl tresold and so, may be this values arent enough, isnt is?

for a final image with alot of small detail I usually set the preset to high, and then back off the irradiance map to 0 for the max. Yeah I kinda think your other threshold settings might be helped out with some adjustments.

ok percydaman, but you’ve forgot to say in what resolution , because for example, i consider -3 0 to a resolution of 800 x 600, so, if i want 3 times more resolution, i folow the proportion, 2400 x 1800 so is equal to -5 -2, i’m right ?

no Im talking about your threshold settings I was referring to earlier. Im sure your irrad map settings are fine, but those other settings are contributing to some lack of GI detail. Just set the preset to high, and that will give you good threshold settings. Then put your irradiance map min and max to whatever you had it at.
