the yellow mile

hi at all
here’s a small project i’ve made just for fun.
i know,it isn’t a complex modeling scene,but i like it!

i like it a lot also.

how did u get the reflection on the floor like that??? is it the floor is modelled like that (bumpy and stuff) or u used a bump/displace map???

Hi maxer, nice image, I really like the floor, I´m doing a project with some similar floor. Did you use just reflections, or also a bump map?
Any chance you share your floor settings?

Thanks in advance.

Guilherme

it wouldn be just glossy reflection that’s for sure…either it’s model that way or with a map…i think he probly modelled it…

or maybe…it’s some cool interpolated glossy reflection settings we dunt even no about… 8)

i tried to get a similar result in this picture a while ago

and i put a noise map in the bump slot (value lower than 5)

I love this image, it reminds me of the arrivals hall at Oakland airport in San Francisco.

I tried to recreate it last night myself but without much luck, I’m going to have another go soon…

Nice! It sounds like something made by Walter de Maria, or maby Dan Flavin?

/Daniel

it reminds me of my high school…

thx stephan …i ll give it a try

thanks for the comments
the floorsettings are simple:
glossy(no interp):0,95
reflect:value40 with the following map
the same map for the bump:value9

thx maxxer…for the info and the map

Thanks maxer for the map and settings, here is my try.

Guilherme

one more qeustion…y do u put the map in the reflect channel when u already have it in the bumb slot…what effects do u want to achieve? :?

maxer,
you are cool as hell.
you know that right.?

Great image maxer, like the others

cheers

@freak

if you use a map for reflections too, it will have the effect
that some areas will reflect more while others won’t.
this is controlled by the amount and variation of the brightness in the map.

hope this helped a bit

oh …thx

I like these simple yet slick images! Great Job!

Very very nice. A sort of sci-fi version of Barragan.
Nice floor to. I use floors like these sometimes too. But I use a procedural noise map as a bump (4-5). I tried the noise map also for the glossy reflection, But found that either too much or hardly noticable. Anyway it didn’t give the realistic affect, A fresnel or a p/p falloff would be more realistic. Or a custom made map to simulate less shininess near the walls, kind of wear due to the use of cleaning machines.

Marc

thats great!!!

Thanks for the map and info
