I’m having problems with thumbnails taking a long time to load in sketchup - which when trying to browse through thousands of assets is causing a major headache.
I thought it might just be a “first time” thing, so I went through the entire tree library letting every thumbnail load/cache - but apparently it doesn’t cache, and needs to reload every time the cosmos browser is opened.
Heh, of course the screenshot doesn’t include my mouse haha. You’ll just have to take my word for it. The thumbnails DO eventually load after about 4-5 seconds, but as you can imagine - when trying to browse thousands of assets quickly, this is incredibly frustrating.
That covers my assumption. The problem is not slow loading of the thumbnails (which are downloaded from the nearest CDN server) but the asset metadata query, which hits our datacenter, based in the US. So if you are too far away from US, that may explain the latency (although 4-5 seconds is too much). Could it be a result of slower internet? If you wish, you can share your location with me via Private Message.
I wouldn’t call our internet slow - we have a gigabit symmetrical connection as far as I’m aware. This was this morning, with an office of people using the connection.
