Hello Everyone :grin:

This is my personal scene for self-training,to practice different seasonal and lighting conditions and how the environment reacts. My starting point was an Australian house: Toorak Residence but I have changed some architectural forms and some materials to fit my practice purpose. So it looks a bit different from this building now.
My purpose was to study how different lighting conditions change the mood of an image, how materials react to nature and seasons, how light shapes and defines our environment. So, I wanted to keep the same camera shot when things are changing.
It was fun for me to work on this scene, and I have learned many new things while working on it.

The foggy one in particular is the standout one though - it’s not something you see a lot of.

Jujubee: Thanks - Raindrops are made in Photoshop. I created a mask texture and then mapped this texture in 3dsmax and created a mask render of the glass material. And then applied some filters.

Cubiclegangster : Thanks a lot. It is VrayEnvironment Fog. I rendered it on a seperate layer and added in composition.

I am very impressed with the general level of detail, but especially the little touches to capture the season and weather.

Fantastic attention to detail. Love the glossiness of the leaves in the wet images, the wet marks on the walls. At what point did you stop and say “I think i’ve done enough!” - must have been a while before you reached that stage :slight_smile:

Onyx trees? I really like your rocks, and puddle - pflow used at all?

I think I said “I think I’ve done enough” when I get bored. Actually I wanted to pass onto a new thing. I think it would be nice to make Christmas Time version, with snow as the last one in series. But I want to work on different things before doing that.

Little Stones On Ground:
First I modeled few different stones of varying size and geometry.(19 in total I guess) I made these models into vrayproxy. Then I used ParticleFlow to distribute a dummy object and replaced these dummies with proxy objects. (with help of ParticleBake plugin and Neil Blevin’s Object Replacer script)
It can sound confusing with words but I will prepare a tutorial about the scene and I think it will be more clear with images.

Trees are modeled with OnyxTree.

Yes it is a handprint on glass - I was playing with textures and shaders.

wouldnt vray fog go inside the building too? maybe if vlado allowed a gizmo to act as either additive or subtractive to the fog that would be cool
