tire and studio test

Something I did to test model a tire

Hi Roppin, your rubber seems pretty cool! modeling too

Great job on that texture, tires have been a sticking point for me.

I think you may want to reduce your DoF though. Its a bit overdone and makes the tires look like they belong to a toy.

That is a nice rubber material! Can you post a wire, I would like to see how you modeled that tire. It looks really good.

Tony

Thanks all!
The dof is a little to much. It´s don with the new physical camera (Realy neat) F-stop: 8. But the tires arn´t bigger than 60 cm. this was merly a test of workflow if I was to modell a bigg tire (most likely I will never have to) I allso like the shape of them.

TRGraphics: Here is some framegrabs for you  I reworked it a bit

nice work roppin.
I see your enjoying the physical camera!

have you tried the fast sss shader on your character?

jacksc02: the cam is nice! The skinshader I havent got grip of yet. Its verry slow together with light cash I think. Or is it, I try to use it with shellac.

the shellac will be the problem, try without it

Thanks! I give it a try. As it is now I think its maby best to render The sss effect as a separat pass?

Cool. Twist modifier. Thanks.

Actually All made by hand, rotated from the center and then modelled. But I have to try the twist modifier now!

Very cool… nice renders.

Can you give us a little details on your studio setup?

DaForce: here is my studio. nothing fancy beside the lights there is allso a solid collor to the environment.

cool, interesting floor

thanks for the layout!

hi there, any chance of getting some infos about that rubber material?
that look really nice!

cheers

Lisa

It was long ago. but I think ita a allmost black vray material with some glossy fresnel reflektion.

/Daniel

that are exactly the things i am tweaking around with

that is what i came up so far
original

damn not working thingy :frowning:

any advice???

cheers

Lisa

it is way to shiny. reduse glossy to 64 or less and make it less reflecting.
