And 2d3’s steadymove:
Or if you have Combustion, you might try hand stabilising it with a reverse tracking. Might have to do it in chunks, though.
Cheaper if you have combustion (shake, DF, even AE have stabilisers of sort), but less automatic than the 2d3 wizardry.

There are two main ways to stabilise a shot. One is the simplest, given a shot the software tries to keep some points inside the frame in the same location nomatterwhat. To do that, it moves the image in all directions inside the frame to keep the relative position of this point fixed. The result may lead the image to show black borders due to the fact that it must be moved too much. A common solution to that is zooming the image till no black border can be seen, losing a huge amount of quality in the way.
The second method involves more calculations, and tries to recreate the missing information (previously in form of black borders) by picking regions of other frames. While this will not always give an acceptable result, it works most of the time.
A clear example of this latest technology is Mokey:
Steadymove from 2D3 works well. Plugs into Premiere, really easy to use and reasonably priced..
aftereffects pro does it out of the box. 2d tracking is what you need.
