is there anyway to implement this whole tonemapping and bloom that this “thing” has :Evermotion - 3d models store, 3d assets, scenes, PBR materials, cg news and tutorials into vray?
tbh it’s easier and more flexible to add such things in post, but I see Your point here - to have bloom effects in v-ray that are physically correct would be awesome!
+1, definately
I’d like if bloom could be rendered as an element but not necessarily applied in the main render so you’d have the option of layering it back in afterwards.
I would think if you could implement these correct blooms and such, then making it so it could be rendered as a separate pass wouldn’t be difficult.
just have seen the fryrender intro page on evermotion…wondering if we too will get a micropoly displacement that doesnt involve huge amountas of eaten memory :)…the other things like blooms etc would be nice too…
Use the 2d mapping displacement mode for that purpose. But, with displacement in particular, it’s either speed or memory.

Vlado
I run both vray and fry. Vray’s displacement is much better imho and isn’t as fussy about your mesh as fry is.
It could be very nice to see tonemapping and bloom in vray…
and something that physically correct …

glare and bloom is a very interesting thing indeed. I see the use for it in archviz scenarios where user does not do much of post processing/comp.
However for live action, this is mostly undesirable. ![]()
Still it makes a very nice visual look. I would vote for it to be added. Better have it and not use it, then not have it and need it.
I vote yes.
But if it can be rendered within a channel, and another new channel is made featuring everything in the render but the bloom/glare, then I would like it yesterday please.
bloom definitelly as a separate pass ![]()

each render names its tools differently i guess…so 2d displacement = micropoly displacement if i get u right…
btw…have been browsing the gallery on fryrendrer pages…think they lack the “wow” effect…its just nothing that vray cannot do or wont be able to do in near future…
however i think the era of such renderers is yet to come once we start running decacores and above :)))))
I need it too, glare effect make the render more realistic!
yep i agree too. i’m doing a lounge-scene with many lights and a slight glare/bloom from the bulbs would give the point on the i.
of course i may do it in post, but that’s another step in the workflow that could be done in 3D with just a few clicks.
whishlist
The whishlist is growing…
1.Tonemapping
2.Multilight
3.Physical Materials
4.Proper emitters
Best thing is if someone from Chaosgroup will tell us what will be done, what can be done (of course), and when… Or they can keep us informed with a newsletter… Just an idea.
Ciao

V-Ray already has:
1) tone mapping (==color mapping)
2) physical lights
3) physical materials
So 3 out of 4 is not that bad… However, multilight cannot be implemented into the current V-Ray architecture (but you can always render your scene for each light and composite that). Objects lights are planned at some point as an update.
What other features may or may not be implemented, I cannot comment yet. We also have many other plans for V-Ray that do not necessarily align to a simple fryrender/maxwell emulation.
Best regards,
Vlado
