Yeah reported this little while ago http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=45264. Somewhat of a pain as I usually use toon for preliminary images but sometimes have z channel as well for post DOF.
Yep, it has been noted before, will see what can be done about it.
