I purchased Vray For Modo (from the Foundary website I think) and when I try to render, I see a licensing error.
I tried installing the licensing server but no app/server was installed in /Applications/ChaosGroup and I still can’t render so I assume that wasn’t the right thing to do?
I also don’t see any license info in my Chaos Group account - how exactly do I license Vray For Modo?
Does http://localhost:30304 page loads in your browser? If it does - what licenses are listed there?
If not - can Can you try to download and double-click on https://ftp.chaosgroup.com/support/OLS\_ssl.scpt file. It will be opened with Script Editor. Run the script using Script > Run or directly Run button. It will prompt for Mac OS user’s password.
After that navigate in your browser to http://localhost:30304 and log in with your username - Chaos Licensing
I also couldn’t find instructions to uninstall Vray and license on a Mac so I’m not 100% sure what’s next (I didn’t ant to make things worse by guessing).
I was looking forward to using Vray on this project but have a limited window, so will have to use Modo to render unless I can get this working in the next day or so.
You can use the uninstaller from /Applications/ChaosGroup/V-Ray/Modo_x64/uninstall/uninstaller
For license server install/uninstall see Chaos Licensing
I think this ‘We’ve automatically upgraded you to V-Ray Next for Modo!’ was sent by mistake back in April.
There are 2 files - an “Uninstall” that you can use in terminal and “uninstaller”, which is an app.
Thanks Ivan, Angel has just explained the upgrade mix up.
And yes, I used the Uninstall terminal file but the ‘Uninstaller’ doesn’t have .app on the end of the file name. It’s a minor thing but they looked like plain Unix files so I didn’t think they were Mac uninstallers.
