tracking … 3d architecture into footage

Hello hello ..

I’m doing project that involves tracking … 3d architecture into footage of the same architecture
to show the transition from design to 3d to …realization…

So I’m trying to think of the best way to do it…
I’ve tracked before…with the Max trackers

But I’m wondering if there is a better way …
We haven’t shot the footage yet…

So I’m also thinking I get like one of getting
Laser measuring tapes

a freeking lazer…
ahahahahhahahh
ok doke…
Umm have a good day ..

Also I totally be rendering it in Vary …mmkkk

I’ve heard good things about SynthEyes http://www.ssontech.com/index.html

this is a good review

I guess, if you want to pay 12 to 24 times as much for the same thing

I tried Icarus…

I ried it once with the progy ICARUS, but its a college program, build by students from Manchester Univerity, havent used it for a while, but if u use it for education as i did you get a free full version of it. If nit it cost around 3000 British Pounds, cant find the pound sign

Ralf

there is a free DV version of ICARUS around there some where. i have a copy here that i use. or you can get the full version one but its not free

icarus is pretty nice and can everything what an architect would need.

Still all matchmovers have one problem with 3d software: You have to scale and rotate the imported points to match with your scene… this is really a pain.

Last time we used AE6’s new tracker and renderer our images with a larger overscan area… it’s faster and much easier for linear cameramoves with fixed pivot.

oh… found it this minute on www.flay.com (yep i’m an old LW’er)

this looks very fine and is cheap : 350usd

hehe, see 2nd post above
