Traffic Animation playback glitch in Unreal 5.7 but smooth in Anima.

My traffic animation plays back and is baked smoothly in my Anima 6 scene, but after I import it into Unreal, the playback is glitchy in the editor and in the media render queue. How do I get this to match the smooth playback in Anima?

I’ve attached a link to a video example.

Things I’ve tried: Turn off any collision on the bridge, checked physics Async, checked FPS playback rates… I’m not sure what else to try. Here’s a Dropbox link to the video: (mp4) Dropbox

I did some further testing to see if I could stop the jumpy playback, and I think I’ve found a workaround for now… So in the jumpy playback, I had 5 lanes at a total width of 15 for one road, but each lane was specified as the default 3.50 width. When I reduced the lane amount down to 1 lane, there is no jumpy behavior, so I will just make 5 single roads with 1 lane instead of 1 road with 5 lanes to prevent cars from trying to overtake and becoming jumpy. I tested it with 3 lanes, and it was still jumpy. Also, I added passengers in the cars, but they stayed on course while the car glitched in and out of the lane, leaving the people floating in a straight path outside the car momentarily, so the passengers seem fine, but the cars have an issue when there are multiple lanes in Unreal 5.7

I spoke too soon. Even though changing my 5 lanes into 5 individual single lanes seemed to fix the issue in the previous post/scene, a couple of days later, I am trying to render a new scene in ue 5.7 media render queue, and the jittery playback is back for the traffic, even with single lane traffic. I’m not sure if there is an issue when the cars are too close to each other. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Hello @tavershima_shande

Have you baked your scene in Anima before importing it into Unreal Engine?

This could be related to the collision background you are using, but it is hard for us to tell without having access to the scene. Please, create a ticket in the Chaos Help Center and share that Anima scene with us. We will analyze it locally to have a better idea of what is causing this and how to fix it.

Hi, Yes. I have baked using the top scene node, then I tried baking every road node, then I made sure everything was baked, saved, and imported into Unreal. I noticed the people are fine because they are skeletal anims, but the vehicles are tick-based, and the default anim data assets are all 60fps, but the tool tip says it should be 30. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I can try to send the scene with a ticket, but it might be large. since it’s a 1:1 scale version of 1km of San Francisco. I’m tempted to export from anima into MAYA then export an FBX if that will work, but I really don’t want to do that.
