Training material recomendations

V-Ray V-Ray for 3ds Max General

To keep on top of the industry, I like to push myself with learning and training.

So what do you guys recommend?

I like the look of this https://www.creativelighting.co/ Only issues are it’s Corona based (not a big issue), and it’s dedicated to 2 days (more of an issue).

So in a nut shell, I’m looking for advanced online courses to push lighting, compositing and maybe shaders too.

Hit me up with your recommendations.

Where does it say that it is Corona based?

It’s hidden away in one of the customer quotes: “…taking advantage of Corona’s LightMix, Nikos demonstrates…”.
Looking at the topics, only a few are actually directly related to the render engine, and those seem to be loosely applicable to other engines, so I guess they just don’t think it matters very much?

I’m interested in this too.

The creative lighting course does look tempting. I enquired about it ages ago and I think the first part of the course is theory, and in London. You then have to practice yourself with a little direction

It also says somewhere about at the end you’re certified with a corona thing. Just seem to remember seeing it.

But it being corona based isn’t the issue, neither is cost. It’s the time. From what I gather it’s spread over 2 days online, but both dates are a Sat and Sun. And I personally want to learn at my own pace.

The LearnVray course looks good if you’re taking your first steps into rendering and lighting, but I’m not blow away by their work. It’s good, it’s just not hyper good!

Did you get any where with this?

I’ve noticed this which looks pretty good. Video based which is good. Also Corona based, but much of the workflow seems to cross over.

Any other means of learning would be appreciated - how have the rest of you learnt your craft?
