Hey guys . I’ve just done some image related with the water pool.
There shows 3 different problems.
Please CC & comment.
1. First image there’s only reflecting on the water but no transperancy, so the tile pool not showed.
2. Second image is the one that succesfully transperancy and displacement for the water.
3. Third image there’s 2 problem the reflecting not correct and transperancy not worked.

Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
I think beside the transparency settings the viewing angle. For example:
Low angle (less transparency seen)
Large/high angle (More transparency seen)
As for the third problem, is it a default SU material?
Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
Thanks, ;D
but about the angle is it water character naturally?
For third image its the same material water with other image. But the third image model file is the biggest.

Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
Yes, naturally. At least that’s my opinion. The images that i posted below are real world so… it make sense.
In third image i meant the material of the columns witch are reflected in the water. are they have default SU material?
Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
play on the fresnel refelct colors. the white make it darker. see how.
Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
Yes the column paint material from SU material(marker - beige).
Is it make any problem with the SU material, and i’m not linked it to vray material.

Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
Nick, these still look pretty good aside from the water. The second image looks the best to me (as you said). How did you do the water?
Re: Tranparency for water? Is there any bugs?
Thanks 40th and nomerado ;D
I think I’ve already found the problem. It’s on the refraction transparency. Because my water mat was modified from clear glass mat.
And Joe, here’s water material that I modified from clear glass SU , hope it helps ;D

Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
If you try to make the water look more transparent. I think that it’s Refraction IOR interferes with the Reflection IOR.
Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
Yes stafanq 40th is right.
The water seems too dirty, so you need to make the refraction transparency more white.
;D
Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
Yes. thanks guys! I made the water from glass, and it’s seams to be fine now!
Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
Thanks Nick, very usefull and easy to follow this topic!
Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
Love this render… what kinde of settings did you use?
Re: Tranparancy for water? Is there any bugs?
The third picture with the default sketchup material applied to the columns, you need to paint the back sides too (paint the inside faces which is what is seen in the water reflection). The water reflects the backside of the material, in this case, the inside faces of the columns.
