Translucent Material (2.Questions)

1. Do you know how can I match the color of this 2. They are the same, but…SSS materials looks darker! I know that i can change the light multiplier, but It will affect my whole scene.

2. Look this reflection! Its Weird!!! How can i correct this problem?

Thannks a lot!

Re: Translucent Material (2.Questions)

It’s a problem for me too, that if I have a plastic material that looks good and I add a SSS effect, that it looks much darker, because the diffuse layer must be set at an transparency. My workaround - use the acolor and the multiplier instead the standard color option.

Re: Translucent Material (2.Questions)

am I doing right? Doesn’t look so different from the other one.
What do you think Micha?

Thanks

Right, difficult to see a difference.

Re: Translucent Material (2.Questions)

I’m trying to get this kind of translucent plastic:

This is my best result till now:

Thank you!

Re: Translucent Material (2.Questions)

I would use a glass material and set reflection/refraction glossiness at low values. For example try 0.7 (for refraction you could try 0.8). Also you could add an emitter layer at high transparency and play with the intensity. A very light glow can be usefull. Or/and add a diffuse layer and play with the transparency.

Re: Translucent Material (2.Questions)

Thanks Micha! It’s a shame…beacuse of the time I couldn’t do it in Vray. Thanks a lot anyway!
