Has anybody found a way to make trees feel more natural. I am getting the trees to feel very plastic. somehow the leafs look plastic. Also is there a way to mow the land? The grass seems to be bushy around the perimeter where grass is specified.

I don’t have an exact trick for you, but we have improved the vegetation subsurface rendering for the next version. So hopefully, v2.1 will make them look less like plastic for you.
