Hi all
This work was a good chance to play with some environment fog and exteriors in general , as I mainly used to work only on interiors .
unfortunately the client changed his mind and he want a day sunny shot now ,so I’ve stopped here and started working on the new mood (early stage test is attached )
Any critique or comment is very very welcomed especially for the sunny shot ![]()
Really nice, the shader is very good too
Thanks snivlem , I’m glad you like it ![]()
I will go back to this project the next week as I am working on another project this week .
Cheers.
Nice work. Everything looks very well thought out.
Looks great!
Any chance your share your *.mat file with the bitmaps? ![]()
Stan
Thanx all !!
Stan : Sure here is the .mat file
, this is from the saved library (the one on the shader ball above ) , but I have played a bit with the ior for the final render as the material needed to be more reflective .
Cheers
Wet Asphalt.zip (2.95 MB)
Stunning work - great atmosphere in the melting snow images.
And thanks for the share of the mat file ![]()
I like the sunny shot. Congrats !
just one thing .. I do not know if it is grass or whatever, but the green is … a bit too green for me
I like the sunny shot!
just one thing .. I do not know if it’s grass or something else, but the green is … a bit too green for me
BTW, thanks for sharing your asphalt
Thanks all . really appreciate your kind words ![]()
Rikou: Thanks for the note about the grass .
For the sunny shot my boss suggested to take only the lower part of it and to make it in a wide aspect , but i still think -with a bit of foreground filling elements - the current aspect looking better !. what do u think guys ?.
maybe I will post a couple of tests fo that the next week
Cheers.
Looks awesome , thanks for sharing ! Would be cool to convert this to completely procedural. Will try to do that as i will have spare time.
looks like your client doesnt have good taste..
i loved all the images.. specially the 1st two.. They are awesome!
Thanks Oleg , yeah that would be interesting ! maybe I will give it a try this weekend .
haha he said "I love it …BUT …… " but as long he paid for it I don’t care
.
and thanks for your kind words I really appreciate it !
finally I’ve get back to this project , I hope I can show something at the end of the day !
Cheers .
On the 4K version asphalt looks a bit big for me , maybe mapping should be smaller a bit ? Also it looks blurry.
Overall really nice image !
What’s the time for 2k BF+BF ?
looks awesome!
Looks really good, but I’m not sure I see any improvement between dual BF and your previous render. What was your previous render settings? BF/LC?
Stan
Thanks for your notes ![]()
I think that because of the camera height (it is 50 cm iirc! ) which in combination with the DOF make it look that bad !
I will check the uv scale also to make sure .
Thanks again and I really appreciate your comment ![]()
Thanks ! I am glad you like it ![]()
Thanks Stan , it means a lot to me seeing your comment here ! ![]()
Fot the first render it was just IM + LC but I think because I haven’t lowered the IM settings (medium 50 20 which is already high !) when I have decide to render a big 4K render make it even more precise
.
and the other thing is that the contribution of GI in this exterior wasn’t that mush as the direct light imho ?!
The IM + LC 4k Takes around 3 hours on 3 worstations dual Xeon .
The Dual Brute force 2k (5 bounces only ! ) takes 1 hour and 20 m on the same rigs .
Thanks all
Best regards.
Great job , it looks great . Only comment, maybe The interior is abit too bright for a day shot .
