I’m working in a Revit file that has a few linked files (mostly engineering elements).
I choose a point of view in Enscape, adjust the sun, apply some visual settings, save it.
Revit creates a new 3D view, in which I then decide to show/hide some specific worksets / objects in the linked files (by hand, not way to filter them out entirely).
My view is very well set and proper. But I can’t seem to find a way to open it in Enscape, change the angle / point of view ever so slightly and update it.
Or overwrite the existing one with the same name.
I need to save this new, slightly different view in a NEW name, which creates a NEW 3D view in Revit, in which I have to do reconfigure everything all over again.
You’ll have to update the view angle in Revit for it to change in Enscape. There’s presently no option to update an existing view from Enscape back to Revit.
in the previos versions 2.x the was a function to save the view from Revit to Enscape.
Seems this funktion is gone in version 3.x
sad, we used a lot to save configured angle of view to Revit to be sure we can do rendering from same place. creating a 3D-camera view in Revit that looks good in Enscape is a challange.
Is there some thoughts to bring the “Export View to Revit” function back?
Still hoping to see this coming to Esncape soon. We need an ‘update view’ button that updates the camera and sun position of a saved view. It’s silly we have to create new views over and over and over again.
Agreed. I really miss the ability to select the tiny camera icons next to each view in Revit, which allowed you to switch between viewpoints without messing with any of the other visibility settings (ie. no geometry turning on and off). As you say arnobat, sometime we manually hide things in a particular Revit view, and to need to go in and redo that work everytime we want to create a new view in Enscape is a complete waste of time. View Templates in Revit can only control so much.
I think they announced already they were going to add a “do not reload geometry on switching views” toggle. That should be a good step in the right direction.
I find it difficult to update views. I select the view I would like to update, I close the view management window, align the view as I wan’t it, then I open the view management window again, but I can’t update the view, as it align the view again as I select to edit it.
The view management is part of the window, and pushes the view, when it opens. So I find it hard to adjust.
