Why can I pay for a new V-Ray Next license at the Chaosgroup Online Store but not an upgrade from 3.6 ? I can’t find the option, but surely this can’t be right? Are resellers even still a thing?
I didn’t mean for this come across as a rant. I really want to know if it’s possible to purchase an upgrade directly through chaosgroup. If not, is it because my original license was bought from a reseller? Or because the store system is in transition? Will it be possible in the future?

I believe you are confused about the role of resellers. Reseller often offer significant discounts on software licenses - VRay included. My reseller was able to to knock 15% off the upgrade to Next.
Myself I see them as parasite, and I agreed to support the people that make things and not to the middle man. It looks like 20 century strategy.
