Yes, I know. Have been doing that now.
But I just found out, that it’s happening in some inner parts also.
There where is enough sharp contrast edge against black.
I got something similar recently - try switching to adaptive subdivision with outline turned on and if that doesn’t work try rendering with lower quality at double resolution - you’re hitting a limitation of broadcast tv it looks like where edges that are slightly off horizontal cause major headaches.
I can’t change to adaptive subdivision. Most materials have so
fine blurry reflections. I’m also using real motion blur. Dmc is
so much faster in this case.
I’m rendering to full HD resolution. I thought about double size rendering
earlier, but it might be overkill to render 3840x2160 animation.
We’ll at least motion blur is doing enough oversampling now, so that helps a bit.
The only other thing that might help is using clamp output - admittedly you might dull down your highlights a little but if it’s reflections causing the bright edges it’ll make your anti aliasing slightly easier. Here was me hoping that when I started working HD I wouldn’t have those problems any more
for animation you might wanna try cubic instead of Area. Of course this introduces some softening. What about your Adaptive amount ? I’d say raise it towards 1.0 with these DMC settings.
Im currenly rendering to hd format 1920x1080 and dont have any aliasing issues. Im using area filter with adaptive qmc 1/10. Clamping is on. Using gamma of 2.2.
Adaptive amount was default 0.85.
Now the rendering is actually really good looking already,
but it’s not perfect. For these kind of projects I’d like to
get extremely clean and beautiful results. Maybe I’ll show you
later when it’s not under nda anymore.
