URGENT - Enscape 4.2.1.88 - Very slow operations and frequent crashes

Hi,

My colleague is working on a small project but has numerous issues when using Enscape.

There are frequent crashes, sometimes the computer seems to halt, then seconds later it continues.

When using the material editor and sliding the colours, the Enscape window update is not immediate, but lags behind.

This is very frustating when working on a deadline, and this never was the case before.

We noticed there’s an Enscape message which I’ve attached here.

We’ve upgraded both Archicad 27 and Enscape to the latest build, and updated the Nvidia-driver.

The workstation has an i9/12900 processor with 64GB memory and a Nvidia GeForce RTX3080 graphics card.

Urgent need for help with this?!

That said…

Who decided to alter the Material Editor this way?! Wat about that colour slider?!

Not only is the useability questionable, just try to go from a colour to pure white?!

This now looks more at home on a children’s tablet! X/

There’s more and more points of discontent and frustrations with every release!

A once so smooth operating tool, now makes for cursing colleagues.

Kind regards,

Johan

Hi @johanatr , I am sorry to hear about this - Whenever you may experience any issues with Enscape what so ever but especially when it comes to frequent crashes please kindly reach out to our dedicated support team right (as detailed here ideally via a support report) away so that we can assist you as quickly as possible too.

You can also forward your concerns in regards to our Material Editor to the support team as well and/or feel free to generally share any (feature) requests you may have for the future via our Chaos Enscape Ideas Portal as detailed here, as they will then be reviewed by our product management team themselves.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

I’ve also experienced frequent crashes. Graphisoft suggested it was a corrupt view, but I found the culprit: General light 27.

Now I just don’t understand how to illuminate my model, given that light emitting sources need to be in Archicad.

i have a lot of crashes too with the new enscape update!

Unfortunately performance is getting worse with each release.

Can confirm, latest updates made work in Enscape extremely frustrating experience. Frequent crashes, lags, problems with batch rendering, broken connection between Archicad’s and Enscape time/sun settings, inability to work in Archicad independently of Enscape during the renderings - I thought I forgot about these problems a couple of versions ago, but now they came back all at once(
I am working in AC 28.2 3110, Enscape 4.2.1.8

Hi everyone! As Demian posted above, if you experience crashing or performance issues of any kind, please send us an error report as detailed here. The report automatically attaches the logfiles and system information from your machine which we need to troubleshoot these kinds of issues. Thanks in advance!

My current issue is less about crashing and more that it doesn’t sync live updates with Revit 2025. I have to restart Enscape any time I need to see a change.

Since there’s no crash log, what can be done about that?

Thanks!

@Brego_1 Please still go ahead and send us an error report as described above - this opens a ticket with our dedicated support team and we will be happy to take a look and see why your live updates aren’t syncing. Thanks!

We are facing several issues in our office after updating Enscape, and as a result, we are unable to use the software anymore. While we have already submitted a support ticket, we have yet to receive a response.

I can see that many other users are reporting similar problems, but we are particularly concerned because we have an important presentation at the end of this month and urgently need Enscape to be operational.

The main issue we are encountering is related to our floating license:

  • There is no option in our interface to unborrow the license, which differs from what is shown in your instructional videos.

Could you please provide an update on our ticket or assist us in resolving this issue as soon as possible?

Hi @d.ullmer and welcome to our Forum.

Right away I reckon that you have already heard back from our support team at this point? Otherwise could you please kindly share the e-mail with me which was used to submit the inquiry? Via a dedicated direct message of course as detailed here due to privacy reason.

Thank you in advance for any further response.
