we have an urgent issue: We need to render out a sequence to fields, because a client needs 1080i Video.
I figured out that maxs “render to field” doesn´t seem to work with the vray frame buffer (I get kind of a double image, looks like top to bottom stereoscopic with the images squashed).
But since we´re also pressed for time we would have loved to also use the vray denoise, which only works with the vray frame buffer.
Any ideas here?
Nevermind, the client ist fine with 1080p after all…

Otherwise I would have suggested to split the fields in Nuke and use our Nuke denoiser plugin on each field separately, and then interlace them again.

Alternatively you could’ve rendered to 50p and convert to 50i afterwards - of course this would have doubled the rendertime.
Yeah, I can´t believe I´d still have to deal with this these days…
Also we work with after effects and were already on a tight deadline with rendering, so we really dodged a bullet here…
