use resimulation to slow liquids

Hi, I was just reading the phoenixfd help to know how can I slow down the speed simulation of liquid using resimulation, because the interpolation and velocity makes it flicker. The problem is the guide shows how to do it with fire and smoke but not with liquids (Chaos Docs), so Im wondering if this can be done or it is not suitable for liquids.
Thanks!

I think I was wrong, Im running a pretty simple render and it seems to be fine, don’t know if it’s just related to the viewport preview max does. I’ll write back when it’s done. Thanks

If it is using a nightly build then I did it recently by simply exporting the velocity on the grid and particles. Keyframed the frames I wanted in the cache index (input panel) worked fine

About that, the cache index means you can do velocity changes all over the simulation, right?

Yes as far as I know… I was quite surprised when it worked

Great, that’s pretty useful, I’m still doing some tests to see if the slowdown works properly in my case. I have increased the resolution and I’ll try to slow it to 0,25.
Thanks for the tip!

Hey guys,

If you are using FLIP and a recent nightly, playback effects should blend the liquid without jittering using just the Input Time Bend controls and without resimulation of any kind. There will be some issues with the liquid when it exits the grid though, we will take care of those soon.

Cheers!

Hey, yes, I’m using the flip solver and a recent nightly release. So, I just have to set it to velocity for blend (already checked velocity for particles and grid) and set the speed?(I’m using linear)
Thanks!

Yup, that should be all
