Using an image sequence as a material?

Can someone shed some light on how to set up a material so I can render 100 frames, with each frame having a different material from an image sequence of 100 images in a folder, without having to use takes etc.
Thank you!

As far as I can think back i always used native C4D materials for this purpose. Usually as “TV screens” or the like which is working fine.

Animated textures will work with Corona, just not in the viewport. You need to render it to see it’s changes.

Thanks. Not seeing the changes in IR was confusing me.
As was having filename-0001.jpg, as the - breaks the sequence, but filename_0001.jpg worked!

I did not know that, interesting!
I think I’ll stick with a C4D material for the viewport and a Corona one for the final render, I just hope I don’t forget to switch them

Aha! I have found a very simple workaround that allows Corona materials with a video as a texture to update on any frame, even without rendering.
I was originally going to say you need to right-click in the material thumbnail and select Animate, which is how it works with C4D materials. In Corona, if you stop and start the IR or Viewport Renderer, the frame updates. So I came up with a super simple solution.

In the material, simply keyframe ANY setting, and I mean something small like IOR from 1.4 to 1.401 won’t be noticed, but if you move to a different frame, Corona will see that something has changed and grab the current frame. This also updates just the plain viewport image as well.

BOOM.

Curious if you tried my idea so you can see the current movie texture frame any time?
