I wonder about the Environment Variable we created for rendering with the old DMC Sampler of Vray 1.5 to be able to get noise-free and RAM-free renders.
Should we still keep that or is the DMC Sampler in the update working fine?

Please see my reply in the other thread. V-Ray 2.20 produced the same noise levels as V-Ray 1.5 SP6 in all of the tests that I did. However it may still be useful to do a few tests of your own.

Oh well. If anybody got any clue as to how to apply the new hair shader to a standard Max Hair and Fur modifier, it would be very welcome.

@BBB3: Yes, a tip how it works with standart hair & fur would be great.
@ chaos group: i’ve not much posts but i’m with you a long time. You guys doing a great job but i cannot understand why you don’t make any manual of your product or your nice upgrades. For 2.0 it was just a modification from the (i don’t know) 5 years old 1.5 version. I know there are a lot of tutorials but a documentation where all the parameters are explained is much better.

Here is an example scene; not very good, but I hope it is enough for a start: [Chaos: Industry-leading design and visualization software](http://www.spot3d.com/vray/scenes/hairfur.zip)

It would help to describe what you expect from a manual. The V-Ray help index lists all parameters of all plugins with an explanation for each of them, which is precisely what you said you need.

Yes, you describe the settings - but not how to use them - example the Lens\_Effects in 2.0. I was very happy when i saw the lens effect (because i`m not a friend of post processing) but it is to sensible to use- more examples would help a lot.
In the new 2.2 help index - the describtion of the VrayHairMtl is very good - a lot of examples and tests - but not how to use with Hair & Fur (I think most of us work with hair and fur or vrayfur).
But - don`t care - I´m very happy with vray and its support (you won`t get any reply from anyone at saturday evening :-))
Have a nice weekend.

Well, that was probably a mistake on my part because I thought this would be obivous. I added a note at the end of the Hair&Fur page here: [Chaos: Industry-leading design and visualization software](http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/200R1/render%5C_hairfur.htm#custom%5C_mtl)

For some reason SolidRocks doesn’t work with this release. I know that’s probably not _your_ problem, but I figured I should mention it here, since Jerome hasn’t responded to the cries for help on his forum.

The interface comes up, but the initialization window doesn’t go away, and it doesn’t change the render settings.

Great update. What exactly does the “VFB: added ICC color correction to the V-Ray VFB” option do though? Loading different ICC profiles doesn’t seem to do anything - I’ve tried checking all of the “Use…” options in the vfb as well. Tried rerendering too after setting the profile.

I have prepared a mini tutorial for Vray Lens Effects last month. You can check it on my web site [www.pixela-3d.com](http://www.pixela-3d.com) if you are still interested.
